This recipe features al dente fettuccine tossed in a rich, creamy alfredo sauce, topped with seasoned ground beef and crispy bacon. Ingredients

  • For the Pasta:
  • 1 pound fettuccine pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20
  • 8 slices bacon chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • For the Alfredo Sauce:
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • For Garnish:
  • 2 Roma tomatoes diced
  • 4 green onions sliced
  • Dill pickle relish optional
  • Additional shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package directions in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.
  • In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, brown ground beef with diced onion over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper. Add minced garlic in the last minute of cooking.
  • Remove beef mixture and set aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of fat in the pan.
  • For the sauce:
  • Reduce heat to medium
  • Add butter and let it melt
  • Pour in heavy cream and whisk until combined
  • Gradually add Parmesan and cheddar cheese, stirring until melted
  • Season with black pepper and salt to taste
  • Return beef mixture to the pan with the sauce.
  • Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. If needed, add reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
  • Mix in half of the crispy bacon.
  • Transfer to serving bowl and top with:
  • Remaining bacon
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced green onions
  • Extra shredded cheddar
  • Chopped parsley
  • Pickle relish (if using)

Notes

For best results, grate your own Parmesan cheese rather than using pre-grated
Don't rinse the pasta after cooking; the starch helps the sauce adhere better
If sauce becomes too thick, thin with reserved pasta water
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream
Can be made with ground turkey for a leaner option
Adjust seasonings to taste before serving
Garnishes can be customized based on preference
